That's our whole mission, in one line — and it's the reason Link Fort Bend exists. Too often, people who want to help don't know where to start, and local organizations doing the work don't have the capacity to find them. We sit in the middle, connecting the two.
Whether it's an afternoon of phone banking, a recurring commitment to a local nonprofit, or leadership on a specific campaign, we help Fort Bend residents find the role that fits — and help local organizations find the people they need.
Link Fort Bend is an independent, locally-led group affiliated with the nationwide Indivisible movement — a network of grassroots groups organizing in their own communities for progressive change and government accountability.
Like every Indivisible group, we're run by volunteers, funded locally, and focused on the issues that matter most right here in Fort Bend County.

Link Fort Bend started with the idea of creating a local coalition meeting similar to one we attended in the Houston area, where local organization leaders traded event information and support.
However, after attending a local event where we met fellow Volunteer Deputy Registrars who had never found an opportunity to put their registrar status to use, we swapped contact information on the spot and matched them with an organization that needed their help — and realized that same kind of matching could happen for volunteers and organizations all across Fort Bend County, not just by chance.
Link Fort Bend is run by a volunteer steering committee. We're a young group, and we're building this alongside our members — new volunteers and new ideas are always welcome, whether that means showing up to an event or helping shape what we do next.
